James Trotter MCIPS

James has led successful change projects and realised significant efficiencies and marry high level strategy with operational processes. He has experience across higher education, law enforcement and local government sectors, and procurement categories including IT, construction, professional services, social care and laboratory supplies and equipment. He currently works as Director of Procurement for Leicester University and Head of Procurement for Loughborough University. In this role, James has successfully developed and aligned the two institutions’ procurement strategies, (category management) teams, policies, procedures, systems and performance and compliance monitoring frameworks etc. He constantly identifies opportunities for contract collaboration between the universities. James is a member of Universities UK's Procurement Group and the Procurement Strategy Group (PSG) of the North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC). He is also a Non-Executive Director of The Energy Consortium (TEC).
