James is a Project Leader and a member of the Trustee Board at Apt. He is driven by the desire to create architecture that is not only visually striking, but also sits harmoniously within its location and surrounding context, creating places for people to use and enjoy.
He has been involved in some of Apt’s most significant projects including the 17.5-acre Fulham Gasworks Masterplan which creates a new residential community with up to 1,843 new homes.
James recently led the refurbishment and extension of 64 Old Church Street, a Grade II* Listed house in Chelsea which employed both off-site and modular technology to deliver a modern extension to a historic family home. He also recently completed 400 & 450 Longwater Avenue, a 314,000 sq.ft. office building in Reading which was designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and Well Building Standard® ‘Platinum Certification’.
He is currently leading the design team on 2 Trafalgar Way which is set to be the tallest student Passivhaus accommodation scheme in Europe with three towers set over 28, 36 and 46 storeys providing 1,672 student beds and 80 residential apartments.
