Head of Counselling and Disability Service
Veronica Moore began her career as both a qualified children’s social worker (fostering and adoption) for Coventry Local Authority in the mid-nineties and as a qualified counsellor, supporting Coventry Local Authority staff (as well as couple counselling for Relate Leicester in her spare time!) She trained in Integrative Psychotherapy and clinical supervision through the 2000’s. In 2002 she moved over to Higher Education (Leicester University) to set up and manage a staff counselling service and went on to become Head of Staff and Student Counselling and Wellbeing, leaving Leicester University in 2014 to take up her current post at Loughborough University as Head of Counselling and Disability. At Loughborough University Veronica enjoys leading a well-established, multidisciplinary service which supports and tutors students with a diverse range of disabilities including specific learning difficulties, physical disabilities, long term illness, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, sensory impairment and mental health difficulties as well as providing a comprehensive staff and student counselling service. A key aspect of her role is to support the University in meeting strategic objectives of widening participation, improved inclusivity and equality of access for students.
