James Seymour

James is Director of Admissions and Student Recruitment at The University of Buckingham, joining in March 2016.

James was formerly Director of UK Recruitment and Outreach at Aston University and worked in Education/Schools Liaison roles at the Universities of Sheffield, Leeds and Northumbria since graduating in 1993. James is a regular speaker at national and regional conferences on HE Guidance, Admissions Policy and Curriculum Reform. His role at Buckingham co-ordinates admissions policy, student recruitment, outreach activities, advice and guidance to UK prospective students, their parents and teachers. Buckingham was awarded the Times Good University Guide University of the Year for Teaching Quality in 2016 and is also ranked in the UK’s top ten for Student Satisfaction and Staff-Student Ratios in the Times. Buckingham’s two year Bachelors’ degrees and 4.5 year Medical degree offer a high quality experience for UK and international students.

James is also a member of the Higher Education Forum for the OCR Examination Board and the Which? Guide to University. James is on the advisory group and editorial board of The Complete University Guide These rankings are verified by a team of staff from a wide range of UK Universities/Colleges.

He has a degree in Politics from The University of Sheffield and a Masters in Management from Aston Business School, Aston University. His Masters’ research project focused on student decision making and UCAS choices.
